Martín Añez Rea

Director of Exploration and Production Legal Services at Repsol S.A., lately responsible for Latin America. More than 20 years of experience working as legal advisor in International Contracting, Joint Ventures, International Arbitration, Foreign Investment, integrated projects of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Law Degree obtained at the Private University of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, and Master in Economic Law at the University of Chile, Diploma in Business Management at ESADE, member of the AIPN (Association of International Petroleum Negotiators) and the IBA (International Bar Association). Professor and lecturer on topics of International Contracting and Energy Law in Spanish and Latin American universities.

Experience in acquisitions and divestments of assets and companies, hydrocarbon transportation agreements, due diligence, project finance, negotiations with governments (drafting of laws and contracts), agreements to form joint ventures and contracts with suppliers of goods and services; experience in Continental Law and Common Law.

Languages: Spanish (native), English (fluent, Certificate of Proficiency issued by the Canadian Business English Institute, Vancouver), French (student level B2). Awards and publications: Latin Lawyer Deal of the Year Awards’ for 2008 – PROJECT FINANCE CATEGORY: First LNG export project financing in Peru.
